Kerala Flood Relif Work 2018
Following the devastating Kerala floods of August 15, 2018—during which 35 of the state’s 38 dams were opened—Lokuttara Leadership Academy mobilized immediately to support affected communities.
Our response started with rescue coordination through social media and gradually expanded into relief camp management, emergency distribution, emotional care, and long-term rehabilitation.
We stood with families not only during the disaster but throughout their recovery journey.
Using social media and volunteer networks, we connected stranded individuals with rescue teams and local authorities to accelerate emergency support.
RELIEF CAMP MANAGEMENT
Our team collected real-time information from underserved camps to ensure fair distribution of food, clothing, and emergency supplies.
DIRECT SUPPORT
We provided:
• Emotional support
• Baby clothing
• Bedding essentials
• Essential household items
• Sponsored a wheelchair for a handicapped mother
REHABILITATION
Recovery continued even after floodwaters receded.
To help families restart their lives, Lokuttara donated kitchen kits to 20 families during the academy’s 10th anniversary initiative.
TOGETHER, WE CAN SAVE MORE LIVES
Your support enables us to respond faster, reach more communities, and rebuild lives after every disaster.
